Odisha has taken another important step in strengthening its fight against cybercrime. As part of the state’s expanded cyber security framework, a Cyber Crime & Economic Offences Police Station (CEOPS) has been opened in the Jajpur Road area, bringing faster assistance and stronger enforcement for victims of online fraud and financial scams.

With cyber fraud cases rising across India—from phishing calls and fake investment schemes to online payment scams—the presence of a dedicated cybercrime police station in Jajpur Road will make it easier for local residents and businesses to report incidents and seek immediate help.

Faster Response for Cybercrime Victims

The new Cyber Crime & Economic Offences Police Station is designed to handle cases such as:

  • Online banking and UPI fraud
  • Phishing and OTP scams
  • Social media hacking
  • Online investment fraud
  • Digital payment and e-commerce scams
  • Identity theft and financial cyber offences

Specially trained officers and digital investigation teams will work to track cyber criminals, recover funds when possible, and assist victims through the reporting process.

What To Do If You Become a Victim

Authorities advise that time is critical in cyber fraud cases. If you suspect any online financial fraud:

  1. Immediately call the national cybercrime helpline – 1930
  2. Report the incident online at: https://cybercrime.gov.in
  3. Preserve transaction details, screenshots, and messages related to the fraud.

Early reporting greatly increases the chances of freezing fraudulent transactions and recovering money.

A Major Step for Jajpur District

The opening of the CEOPS at Jajpur Road is expected to significantly improve cybercrime response in the region. Local residents, traders, and business owners will now have quicker access to law enforcement support for digital and financial crimes.

This initiative reflects Odisha’s broader effort to strengthen cyber policing infrastructure and ensure safer

digital transactions for citizens.

Tele-Law Assistance for Cybercrime Victims

Victims who need legal guidance or assistance in filing cybercrime-related cases can also seek tele-law support.
